Erick Frazier
The Official Website
Welcome to the official web site built to support
the release of the new album Trying To Reach You.
The album hasn't been officially released yet but is available
for sale on this website and at Waterloo Records.
TRYING
TO REACH YOU
This latest release by Erick Frazier features eleven
songs that each have a slightly different flavor.
The common element in all of the songs is the acoustic
guitar played by Erick and the fiddle by Drew Schafer.
The project was recorded at Phoenix Records in Austin
Texas by Lance Keltner, who also provided the electric
and steel guitar parts throughout. Tommy Taylor of
the former Christopher Cross Band played drums and
Mark Andes of the 80's band Heart played the base
guitar. Other talented musicians contributed as well
such as Patrick Roberts, who is now a part of the
Cord band, played electric guitar for the title track
and Bryan Bane recorded the backup vocals.

SUBSTANCE
Recorded in 2001, this ten track album was produced
and recorded by my former alternative rock band Yard
Arm. In May of 2003, Yard Arm disbanded but the Substance
album is still available in limited quantities to
anyone interested. This album certainly has a different
flavor than Trying To Reach You, but is equally
as thought provoking, and emotionally charged. Patrick
Roberts, the electric guitar player, can be found
currently playing with the Cord band. Their web site
is www.cordband.com .

Biography
For this recently self-released project, Erick Frazier
went into the studio to record a compilation of songs
written over the last few years. Erick has been involved
with music in some form since his parents bought him his
first guitar, a Hondo, back in 1992. His musical journey
began in his hometown of Arlington, Texas and continued
to develop in Austin, Texas when he left home to further
pursue music and continue his education.
When asked about the inspiration for his music, Erick
comments that "each song has an experience to go with
it, a story to tell, and an emotion that has been triggered."
Erick's songs are insightful and often cause the active
listener to question or consider something about life.
The initial goal in recording this album was to simply
have these songs on a disc to share with friends and family.
As of now, there is no decisive plan for this album, and
when asked questions concerning its direction, Erick comments,
"currently I am not sure where it will go, but I know
that God has already begun using the album to truly reach
people. That is my goal. I want to point people to something
greater than ourselves, and, in my opinion, that is Jesus
Christ."
Erick Frazier has played in different parts of the world.
His travels began when his previous rock band, Yard Arm,
was invited to play a concert at the International Music
Festival in Mexico. Last summer, Erick spent a few weeks
playing in Kiev, Ukraine while overseas on a mission trip.
During this time, he made an appearance on Muz One, Ukraine's
equivalent to MTV, and was featured in an article in Kiev's
number one English newspaper, the Kiev Post. Erick describes
his experiences on the Kiev music scene "as surreal, almost
a twilight zone." He continues by saying, "half the time
I had no clue what was happening. So, I just played my
music and hoped that people liked it, and they certainly
seemed to."
This most recent project, Trying To Reach You, is an album
with one theme that clearly flows throughout the eleven
songs. "The album name just seemed to be perfect and it's
funny that the song "Trying To Reach You" was the last
one to be recorded and finished. That phrase really embraces
what it is that I am trying to do with my music."
